Suffolk Class AA Playoffs
Commack defeated Bay Shore 4-3 on Thursday, May 17th. Paul Maline hit a walk-off triple with one out in the bottom of the ninth that scored Matt Schillingsford from first to give No. 6 Commack (14-6) a win over No. 11 Bay Shore in the first round of a Suffolk Class AA playoff game. Robert Pepe pitched five scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Bay Shore will play W. Babylon on Friday, May 18th @ 4 PM.

Bay Shore defeated Sayville 5-2 on Thursday, May 17th. Zach Romanzi defeated Kevin Lankowicz, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2, at third singles as No. 5 Bay Shore (15-2) defeated No. 12 Sayville in the second round of the Suffolk playoffs. Bay Shore advances to the quarterfinals to play at No. 4 Whitman on Monday at 4 p.m.

Lucas Rock scored three of his four goals in the first half to lead No. 5 Bay Shore (12-5) in the first round of the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Bay Shore will visit No. 4 Sachem North in the quarters, Tuesday at 4 p.m. No. 12 Hills West is 9-8.

Bay Shore's 2nd Straight Undefeated Season
Bay Shore defeated Sachem East 6-4 on Thursday, May 17th. Tied at 4 in the bottom of the 10th, Brianna Coan hit a walk-off two-run homerun to give Bay Shore (19-0) the win in League II. Coan finished 2/4 with four RBIs. This is Bay Shore's second straight undefeated season, according to assistant coach John Burton.

The Boy's Track team evened their league record to 1-1, with a 85-56 win over Walt Whitman on Wednesday, April 11. The Marauders were led by triple winner Kareem Roberts who took gold in both hurdle events and the high jump. Other outstanding performances were turned in by Angel Rosario who won the discus with a toss of 161', one of the longest throws in the county this season and John Scott who raced to victory in the 400, and then led off the victorious 4x100 relay team with teammates Stanley Constant, Terrence Phillips, and Cameron Newkirk. Constant also won the shot put for the home team. Next up for the Marauders is the Suffolk Officials Invitational, on Saturday, then back to their league schedule to take on Central Islip, next Wednesday, April 19th.

Bay Shore ran its record to 3-1 in league play by defeating Northport by a score of 13-12 on Wednesday, April 11th at Vetrans Park in Northport. The game was a wild affair after falling behind 4-4, the Marauders behind 3 goals from Griffin Rock in the 2nd qtr and tied the score at 7 at the half. The game was again tied at 9 at the end of the third. Bay Shore held a 12-11 lead with 4 minutes left. Northport tied the score with 3 mininutes left. Bay Shore got the ball back and called time out with 38 sec. remaining. Bay Shore took a shot with 12 seconds left which looked to be saved by the Northport goalie but Luke Pacella scopped up the loose ball moved it back out front for another shot. Jake Sheets gathered up the rebound with 4 seconds left and put in the winning goal.

The Boys Varsity Track Team competed at the Derrick Atkins Holiday Invitational on Monday, April 10th held at Mitchel Park in Uniondale. The Marauders came away with some nice "hardware" for their efforts. Angel Rosario took home a pair of first place plaques by dominating the Shot Put and Discus throws. Team mate Stanley Constant added to the medal count with a fourth place toss in the Shot and a third place throw in the Discus. Omari Buckmire took home the gold in the Long Jump, leaping over 20' into a strong headwind. Jamari Lawrence took home the silver and Terrence Phillips the fourth place medal for Coach Rich Mauro's jumpers. One the track, the 4x400 meter relay team of John Scott, Emmet Farnan, Kareem Roberts, and Bill Pierre tool home the third place plaques. Scott later teamed up with Matthias Eato, Stanley Constant, and Omari Buckmire to medal in the 800 Meter Sprint Medley.

Wins by Captain Will "The Stag" Hoffman and doubles partner James Glynn, 3rd doubles team of Ricky Martin and Miles Bromfield and 4th singles player Andrew Keach. The boys are now 5 - 1 overall and undefeated in the league. The Marauders will take on the Bulldogs of Lindenhurst on Tuesday, April 3rd at the Bay Shore courts.

The Marauders defeated the Buccaneers from Islip on March 29th, by the score of 6-1. Bay Shore dominated right from the start with wins by singles players Colin Sacco, Steven Masciale, Eric Ramsay, and Miles Bromfield. The match was clinched by seniors and captains Will hoffman and Harris "the blue hen" Robinson. The boys are now 4-0 and will take on the Patriots of Ward Melville on Friday, March 30th at the Bay Shore courts.

The Lady Marauders improved to 3-0 behind a strong pitching effort by junior Michelle DeVito, who went 7 strong innings striking out 12 batters en route to a 6-0 victory over the West Islip Lady Lions on Thursday, March 29th. Brianna Coan came up clutch several times for the Marauders on both sides of the ball, getting two hits and driving in two runs, and also making two huge plays in right field to help keep West Islip off the board. Giana Panarello also added two hits and two runs for Bay Shore.

Bay Shore defeated Sayville on Tuesday, March 27th by the score of 6-1. 3rd singles player Eric Ramsay clinched the win early for Bay Shore to take a commanding 4-1 lead in the match. Other outstanding plays by James Glynn and Will Hoffman at 1st doubles and Steven Masciale at 2nd singles. The boys are now 3-0 on the season and will play the Bucaneers from Islip on March 29th at the Bay Shore courts.

On Monday, March 26th, Bay Shore beat Middle Country by a score of 17-8. In addition to Bay Shore's 17 goals, the offensive players with assists on those goals included: Carly Cox, Cynthia DelCore, Caroline deLyra and Kyra Harney. Midfielders Amanda Voges (3G) and Cynthia DelCore (1/1) played exceptionally well. Goalkeepers Dylan Teitelbaum (2) and Shianne Judson (3) combined for 5 saves.

Michelle Devito allowed three hits and struck out 13 in six innings, and went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs to lead Bay Shore (1-0) in League II. Courtney Syrett was 2-for-4 with a homer, four RBIs and two runs.

Outstanding play by 1st doubles, Captain Harris Robinson and James Glynn, as well as, second doubles team of Zach Romanzi and Eric Ramsay. Bay Shore was leading 3-2 with 2 matches remaining when the dominant Steven Masciale at third singles won in the third set to give the clinching win to the now 2 and 0 Marauders.
