Ross Goldin Developmental Meet @ Bay Shore
Saturday – March 29, 2008 (sunny, windy, cold, 44 degrees)

The Ross Goldin Meet was named after the longtime teacher and track coach at Bay Shore High School. Mr. Goldin was one the all-time great coaches in Suffolk County and at Bay Shore. Mr. Goldin was at the meet and helped time! The meet is an early season meet, which we use to see where we are in our training and to gain some experience. Do not worry about times or distances at this meet. The weather was cold, windy, and not conducive to good performances!!!

I would like to thank you all for the great job you did in helping out at the meet!

I would also like to thank the parents who volunteered, everyone who brought food and drinks to sell, and the coaches.

The meet on April 12th will be bigger by about twenty teams, so we will need more help!!!

Tenica Roberts & Brittany Silipo Win Two Events Each!!!

Connetquot is always a well coached and talented team. The Thurnderbirds were second in the league a year ago and again might be the next best team other than Bay Shore! Commack and Northport are also very good teams, and make up perhaps the strongest league in the county! We started the meet with a 1-2-3 sweep in the triple jump as Tenica Roberts jumped 35’4¼”. Stephanie Barnes was second with a jump of 34’7½” and eighth grader Alexis Barrau was third 33’2½”. The Marauders also swept the 1500 meter run. Sarah McCurdy won with a time of 5:09.9. Eighth grader Regina Peattie ran a pb 5:11.2 to get second and Seventh grader Lindsay Arcuri was third with a pb 5:14.5. Cherrice Brown 32’8½” and Cindy Treminio pb 32’3½” went 1-2 in the shot put. Tenica Roberts won her second event with a very quick 61.7 in the 400 meter dash. Brittany Silipo won the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.9. Rashida Charles was a step back with a time of 13.0. They finished in the same order in the 200 meter dash. Brittany ran a pb 26.2, with Rashida running 27.2. Olivia Civardi ran a quick 2:27.1 to lead Bay Shore to a 1-2-3 sweep in the 800 meter run. Danielle Glynn was second with a time of 2:33.3. Kathryn Glynn used a big kick to get third with a pb time of 2:34.6. Shannon Christie ran her first race in two seasons, running close to her pb with a time of 2:40.2. Ashley Moran ran her first race in over a year, and posted a solid 2:50.2. It is so good to see both Shannon and Ashley back healthy! Stephanie Barnes won an exciting 400 meter hurdle race with a pb time of 71.5. Darleen Eiermann picked up a third, running a pb 75.7. Kim Moran led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 3000 meter run. Kim’s time was 11:29.2, and looked like her old self after being sick most of the indoor season! Vicki Tiedemann was second with a time of 11:43.9. Courtney Kayser ran a good race to get third with a time of 12:22.6. We had three high jumpers go 4’6”. Darleen Eiermann, Alexis Barrau, and newcomer Diana Donohue. In the discus, Cherrice Brown was second with a toss of 93’2”. We ended the meet with a win in the 4 x 800 meter relay. Danielle Glynn 2:36.2, Kathryn Glynn 2:39.3, Michele Posillico 2:47.9, and Olivia Civardi 2:37.7 ran 10:41.1. We had a very good meet!
