Dalers Down Bay Shore
in Long Island Championship -
Farmingdale looks to repeat at the state
title as they knocked off Bay Shore, 13-9 in the
Long Island Class A title at Dowling Sports Complex
on Sunday, June 6th. The Dalers won their 5th
straight Long Island Championship. Senior Alyssa
Leonard led Bay Shore with four goals and two
assists. Caroline deLyra added two goals and one
assist and Shelby Vacarro had two goals in the
loss. Goalie Katie Lawlor stopped six shots on
the net. The
Marauders finish the season 16-4 and the Dalers
improve to 13-4.

Marauders Stun Suffolk County, Top Northport -
No. 3 Bay Shore was crowned Suffolk County
Class A Champions as they defeated top-seeded
Northport, 13-12 on Wednesday, June 2nd. Bay Shore
started the game on a 4-0 and ended the first
half on a 5-0 run for a 9-6 advantage heading
into the half. With the Marauders having their
largest lead of the day at 13-8, the Tigers answer
with five straight goals of their own to bring
the score to within one point (13-12). Great defense
was played by Cynthia DelCore and Caroline deLyra
who secured the win at the end of the game. Alyssa
Leonard led Bay Shore scorers with four goals
and Kyra Harney tallied three goals. The Marauders
will take on Farmingdale for the Long Island Championship,
Sunday at noon, at Dowling. Nothport almost pulled
off an incredible comeback, but Bay Shore holds
on and pulls off probably the biggest upset of
the year.
Vaccaro Victorious for Bay Shore -
Shelby Vaccaro scored the game-winner
unassisted with 3:44 left in the second half as
No. 3 Bay Shore upset No. 2 West Islip 10-9. The
Marauders (15-3) trailed 2-0 to start the game
and quickly took the 3-2 lead and never looked
back in the Suffolk Class A semifinals. Casey
McGowan scored on an assist from Devan Crimi with
4:08 to play to tie it at 9 for No. 2 West Islip
(14-3). Katie Lawlor made eight saves, including
a save on a free position attempt with 1:10 play
for Bay Shore, which last made a county final
in 2006. Bay Shore will play No. 1 Northport,
the two-time defending Suffolk Class A champion,
at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Dowling Sports Complex.
Caroline deLyra led the Marauders with a game-high
three goals, while Vaccaro and Kyra Harney each
added two goals and one assist, and Claire Healy
chipped in with two goals.

Leonard Leads Bay Shore Over Middle Country -
Senior Northwestern bound, Alyssa Leonard
scored seven goals to lead the No. 3 Marauders
over No. 6 Middle Country, 12-9 in the Suffolk
Class A quarterfinal. Katie Lawlor had eight saves
in goal for Bay Shore. Shelby Vaccaro had two
goals and two assits in the win. Bay Shore (14-3)
plays at No. 2 West Islip (13-2) at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The Marauders look to knock off WI as faced the
Lions earlier in the season on April 30th and
lost a heart breaker 8-10.

Senior Day is Stellar for Bay Shore -
Even though it was a rainy day on the
Marauder home turf, senior day turned out to be
bright. Bay Shore defeated North Babylon 16-5
and were led by senior Shelby Vaccaro who scored
five goals and two assists and senior Alyssa Leonard
who had four goals and two assists. Senior goalie
Katie Lawlor made eight saves and Claire Healy
added two goals and three assists as Bay Shore
concludes the regular season going 12-2 in Division
I.

Leonard had two goals for Bay Shore. Goalies Katie
Lawlor (4) and Samantha Fagone (2) combined for
six saves on the day. Bay Shore improves to (10-2)

with a 10-8 victory over the Marauders on Friday,
April 30th. Bay Shore led most of the game and
had a 6-2 advantage heading into halftime but
the defense gave up eight goals in the second
half to fall short. Caroline deLyra led Bay Shore
(7-2) with three goals and one assist, teammate
Shelby Vaccaro added two goals in the loss. Netminder
Katie Lawlor tallied 12 saves on the day.

at a perfect 8-0 with a 17-9 blowout over the
Marauders. Bay Shore couldn't stop the Tiger offense
led by Shannon Gilroy who scored four of her game-high
five goals in the first half for Northport. The
Tigers opened the game on a 9-0 run, in Division
I. Shelby Vaccaro led Bay Shore (6-1) with two
goals and an assist.

Bay Shore defeated the Eagles 10-9 on
Tuesday, April 20th. After a dead-even first half
(6-6), the Marauders managed to outscored West
Babylon 4-3 in the second half for the win. Shelby
Vaccaro scored unassisted with 13:54 left in the
second half, her third of the game, to give Bay
Shore a 10-7 lead in Division I. Carly Cox added
two goals and one assist, and Alyssa Leonard scored
two goals. Goalie Katie Lawlor recorded 10 saves
on the day. Bay Shore handed the Eagles their
first loss of the season, as they fall to 5-1
and Bay Shore improves to 5-0 in Division I play.
