season meet 159.675- 143.125 on November 3rd.
Freshman Olivia O'Connor had a 36.90 all-around
score to lead Bay Shore (7-0). Senior Stephanie
Vasquez scored a 7.9 on the floor excercise.
O'Conner Notches First Place -
Bay Shore eliminated Connetquot 157.9-148.9
on Tuesday, October 13th. Freshman Olivia O'Connor
took first place in each even including All-Around
(37.1). O. O'Conner sister junior Mackenzie
O'Connor took second in the All-Around (35.25).
Marauders Edge Past Patchogue-Medford -
Bay Shore defeated Pat-Med 151.9-148.5
on Wednesday, October 7th. Olivia O'Connor led
the Marauders taking first on both the bar and
the floor with a 9.4 and a 9.425 respectively.
Half Hollow Hills Downs Bay Shore -
Even though Olivia O'Connor won the
all-around with a 37.15 for Bay Shore, Half
Hollow Hills won by a score of 162.95-151.4
on Wednesday, September 23rd. The Marauders
are next in action on September 30th, when they
travel to Kings Park for a 4:30 pm meet time.
Bay Shore Rides Over Sachem East
- The
Marauders defeated Sachem East 151.025-147.35
on Monday, September 21st. Bay Shore improves
to 1-0 with the non league meet against league
I team Sachem East. The Marauders defeating
a League I team made the victory even sweeter.
Freshman Olivia O' Connor won the all around
with a score of 36.00 . "O" as she
is called by her teammates also took first on
each event! Vault (8.9), Bars (9.1), Beam (8.95),
and Floor Exercise(9.05). Third place All Around
was taken by junior Mackenzie O' Connor with
a score of 33.170 . "Mack", who is
also a co-captain for our squad also took 2nd
on Bars (8.475) and 3rd on Floor (8.7). Our
other co-captain Brenna O' Connor took 4th in
the All Around with a 32.27 and 3rd on Bars
(7.8). Bay Shore may be led by the O'Connor
sisters but they are backed by a strong team
in the likes of Senior Stephanie Vazquez, who
competed in two events (even though she was
under the weather) to help her team to victory.
Junior Daniella Defonte put in a valiant effort
competing on bars. Freshman Kerry Maerki did
a great job on her events Bars, Beam, and Floor.
In addition, freshman, new comer Sarah Sanchez
did very well aiding her team with 7.4 on Vault.
Eighth-grader and also a new comer Lydia Taylor
had a great showing on her two events,Vault
7.725 for 6th place and Uneven Bars and last
but not the least our new 7th graders Autumn
Beane and Sabrina Esposito. Beane and Esposito
both performed very well on Floor Exercise and
Beam respectively. Coach Reid said, "This
team is considered a young squad and they have
alot to offer and have been touted as the team
to watch this year in league II, and I know
as they've shown in this first meet, they truly
are the team to watch in league II and they
will not dissappoint!"
