Bay Shore Falls to Lindenhurst -
The Marauders dropped their last game 46-33 to the Bulldogs. Brenna Comens led Lindy with 13 points, 22 rebounds and five blocks. Senior Alyssa Leonard scored a team high 12 points and finished with eight rebounds. Sophomores Megan Schoberl and Courtney Bocchieri both had eight rebounds. Junior Taylor Lombardo scored eight points and senior Najia Bangs chipped in six points and two assists. Bocchieri and freshman Casey Taggart scored a bucket for Bay Shore. Bay Shore concludes the season at 3-9.

Marauders Win Big on Senior Night -
Senior co-captain Alyssa Leonard finished with a career high 36 points in a 70-61 win over rival Central Islip. After the first quarter the game was tied 12-12, the Buccaneers led going into the half 32-26 followed by Bay Shore tying the game up at the end of the third 45-45. The Marauders went on a 12-0 run led by Leonard who scored 14 of her 36 points in the fourth quarter. Leonard tallied 11 rebounds and four steals. Senior co-captain Najia Bangs (six points) nailed two free throws late in the game, along with senior co-captain Ebo Williams (nine points) who also hit three free throws to ice the game. Bangs had a team high five assists, Courtney Bocchieri had a career high six points and tallied nine boards in the win. The Marauders will end their season at Lindenhurst on Tuesday, February 9th at 6:00 pm.


Wildcats Claw Bay Shore -
Walt Whitman improves to 9-1 in League II with a 73-55 win over the Marauders. Bay Shore scored only six points in the first quarter and could not rebound to pull out the win. Junior Taylor Lombardo scored a team high 16 points, including four three-pointers and two steals. Senior guard Najia Bangs finished with 12 points, including two three-pointers and five rebounds. Senior Ebo Williams and Alyssa Leonard both chipped in nine points and a combined 11 boards.


Lombardo Lights It Up -
Junior guard Taylor Lombardo scored a game high 18 for Bay Shore but it wasn't enough as Sachem North got the 57-48 win on Saturday, January 30th. Lombardo 50 percent (6-12) from the field and finished with three rebounds and two assists. Senior Ebo Williams had 10 points and six rebounds, senior Najia Bangs had five points, six rebounds and two assists. Freshman Casey Taggart was 2-3 from the field including a three pointer. Senior Alyssa Leonard had five points, five assists, eight rebounds and four steals in the loss. Great defense was played by Taggart, Bangs and Perri Baker. Sophomores Megan Schoberl and Courtney Bocchieri chipped in a bucket and three rebounds a piece.

Tigers Pounce on Bay Shore -
No. 10 on Long Island, Northport held Bay Shore to just 16 points in a 61-16 win on Thursday, January 28th. The Tigers improve to 9-0 in League II while Bay Shore falls to 2-7. Senior Ebo Williams led Bay Shore in scoring with seven points, rebounds with 11 and was 3-for-6 from the line. Senior Alyssa Leonard added four points, junior Taylor Lombardo had a three pointer and sophomore Megan Schoberl had a turn around jumper for two points for all of the Marauder points.

Bay Shore Takes Down Thunderbirds -
Senior forward Ebonique Williams led Bay Shore over Connetquot 55-36 on Thursday, January 21st in their "Score for the Cure" basketball game. Williams scored 13 points and had 10 rebounds as the Marauders fundraised $2,055 dollars for the American Cancer Society. Senior guard Alyssa Leonard added 14 points and four assists and junior guard Taylor Lombardo hit four three pointers. Bay Shore improves to (2-6) in League II. Connetquot drops to 2-6 in the league.

Lindy Downs Marauders -
The Bulldogs knocked off Bay Shore 53-35 on Friday, January 15th. Lindenhurst held the Marauders under ten points in three quarters of play. Senior co-captain Ebonique Williams led Bay Shore with 12 points and 12 rebounds and senior guard Alyssa Leonard added 11 points and a career-high 17 rebounds in the loss. Courtney Bocchieri had five rebounds, Megan Schoberl had four points and four rebounds. Great defense was played by Casey Taggart and Leonard. Lindy is 3-3 and Bay Shore is 1-5 in league II.


Marauders Loss Shocker to CI -
The Musketeers shocked Bay Shore 62-54 on Tuesday, January 12th in League II action. After being down 8-0 in the first few minutes the Marauders ended the first quarter up 18-16. Bay Shore kept the two point advantage heading into halftime 31-29. Eventually the Marauders ran out of steam and let up 21 points to Central Islip in just the fourth quarter alone in a disappointing loss. Senior guard Alyssa Leonard lead all scorers with 22 points and recorded six assists. Senior forward Ebo Williams had 10 rebounds and four points. Senior pointguard Najia Bangs finished with 10 points and five rebounds. Junior Taylor Lombardo also had 10 points including two three-pointers. Megan Schoberl had a block and six points (four in the fourth quarter). Bay Shore and Central Islip are both 1-4 in league play.


Wildcats Scratch the Marauders -
Walt Whitman defeated Bay Shore 46-32 on Friday, January 9th. The Marauders couldn't stop Whitman forward Ally Leftridge who had 23 points and 10 rebounds for Whitman improves to 4-0 League II. Senior Najia Bangs led Bay Shore with 13 points and senior Alyssa Leonard had seven rebounds (3-6 from the free throw line). Senior Ebo Williams finished with eight points and six rebounds in the loss.

Arrows Squash Bay Shore -
Sachem North Flamming Arrows defeated the Marauders 51-28 on January 5th to remain undefeated at 3-0 in League II action. Sachem North held Bay Shore to only 10 baskets as the Marauders shot only 20 percent from the field (10-50). Alyssa Leonard led Bay Shore scorers with 10 points and Ebo Williams finished with eight points. Leonard tallied seven steals and six rebounds, while Williams pulled down six rebounds as well. Casey Taggart, Courtney Bocchieri, Taylor Lombardo and Najia Bangs all scored one basket each.

Lombardo Hits Nine Three-Pointers -
Junior guard Taylor Lombardo scored a career high 27 points including nine three-pointers to lead Bay Shore over Pierson/Bridgehampton 66-23. Five of Lombardo's tres came in a 26-9 third quarter. Lombardo shot 9 of 17 from the floor. Senior guard Najia Bangs had 14 points and four assists and senior guard Alyssa Leonard added nine points and eight steals.

Bay Shore Bounces Back Against Connetquot -
After losing two straight games, the Marauder defeated the Lady Thunderbirds 47-41 on Wednesday, December 23rd. Senior Alyssa Leonard led all scorers with 15 points and added 11 rebounds and three assists for Bay Shore. Senior Najia Bangs added 12 points, seven rebounds and two steals and Courtney Bocchieri had four points and eight rebounds. The Marauders improve to 1-1 in League II play.

Powerhouse Northport Downs Bay Shore -
Northport defeated the Marauders 52-30 on Tuesday, December 22nd. Grace Schilling had 19 points to lead the Northport offense as they improve to (2-0) in League II. Bay Shore was led by junior Taylor Lombardo and senior Alyssa Leonard who both scored nine points a piece. Sophomore Megan Schoberl had six rebounds while senior teammates Najia Bangs and Ebo Williams both chipped in four points in the loss. The Marauders committed 17 turnovers.

Clippers Top Bay Shore -
After being down 12-2 halfway through the first quarter, Bellport fought back and defeated Bay Shore 57-48 on Saturday, December 12th. The Marauders got into foul trouble early on and it continued as Bellport was on the line 35 times compared to the Marauders 17. Clippers Asia Roundtree scored five of her 15 points in a 15-6 third quarter that gave Bellport (1-3) a 12-point lead. Junior Taylor Lombardo had a game high 17 points including four three pointers, senior forward Ebo Williams finished with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Senior guard Alyssa Leonard had 12 points, four steals, five assists and fouled out in the fourth quarter. Freshman guard Casey Taggart scored her first career varsity point. Bay Shore falls to 1-1 on the season.

Marauders Win Season Opener -

Bay Shore defeated West Islip 55-30 in the 2009 season opener on Wednesday, December 9th. Junior guard Taylor Lombardo led all scorers with 18 points, including four three-pointers. Senior pointguard Najia Bangs had 12 points and five assists and senior teammate forward Alyssa Leonard recorded eight points, five assists and three steals. Sophomore Megan Schoberl added nine points and five rebounds in the win as the Marauders improve to 1-0 and the Lions fall to 0-2. Freshman Perri Baker scored her first varsity points on a lay-up as time expired in the first half. Great defense was played by junior Elissa Lagara who left the game in the first half with a knee injury.
