| Eastern
States Championships -
The Boys Track Team ran in the Eastern
States Championships at the Armory in NYC on
Tuesday night. Seniors Mike Moore and Brandon
Hutchinson each brought home medals for the
Marauders. Moore took third in the triple jump
with a leap of 44' 7.75 " and Hutchinson
took 5th in the long jump. Junior Raphael Rother
ran a personal best in the 400 meter dash to
round out Bay Shore's night.
Marauders Finish 3rd at Suffolk County Championships
-
Congratulations to the Boy’s Varsity Track
Team on their 3rd place finish at the Section
XI Championships held on Tuesday night at Suffolk
Community College. The Marauders were led by
“All County” Triple; Jumper Brandon
Hutchinson, who despite a severely sprained
ankle won his specialty on his last attempt
with a leap of 45’ 11.50”. He also
took 2nd in the Long Jump with a mark of 22’
4.50”.
Junior Raphael Rother, in his first year of
track, shocked the crowed as he led wire to
wire in the 300 meter dash. Mike Moore took
5th in the Long Jump, Mike Mauro took 2nd in
the 1000 meter run, and Kadesh Roberts took
6th in the 600 meter run to round out the scoring
in the individual events. The 4x200, and 4x400
meter relay teams also added to the tally for
Bay Shore.
League II Championships -
The Boys Varsity Track team took third place
in the League ll Championships on Sunday evening,
at Suffolk Community College. The Marauders
were led by the jumping tandem of Brandon Hutchinson
and Mike Moore. Hutchinson, nursing a sprained
ankle was able to take 1st in the Triple Jump
and 2nd in the Long Jump. Moore brought home
the gold in the Long Jump and 5th in the Triple.
New star Raphael Rother brought home the silver
in the 300 meter run and was joined by Mike
Mauro, Dan Goldberg, and "Super Soph"
Kadesh Roberts in the 4x400 relay which also
took 2nd. Roberts had an outstanding night as
well, when he ran the 55 hurdle trials, the
600 meter run, and the 55 hurdle finals back
to back to back! Roberts took 4th in the 600
and 6th in the hurdles, all within 10 minutes.
Mike Mauro brought home the gold in the 1000
meter run. Perhaps the most exciting event of
the night was the 4x200 relay race won by Bay
Shore. The team of Karl Allison, Hutchinson,
Moore, and Connor Crane blew out a tough field
to bring home the gold medal for the Marauders!
Other fine performances were turned in by Matt
Cohen in the 1600, Connor Chrisman, Nick Swain,
and Kyle Wind in the 3200 meter run, Jon Moreno,
Angel Rosario, and Dom Laferrar in the Shot
Put.
Providence, RI -
The Boys Track team traveled to Providence,
Rhode Island over the Holiday break, for the
Rhode Island Classic Track and Field Invitational.
The Marauders were well represented by the jumping
tandem of seniors Brandon Hutchinson and Michael
Moore. Both are "All County " selections
from last year and are resuming their domination
of the horizontal jumps. Hutch brought he gold
medal back to Bay Shore with a leap of over
45' in the Triple Jump. His partner Moore took
5th soaring over 43'. The "Dynamic Duo"
went on to take 2nd and 3rd in the Long Jump,
with Moore taking the silver and Hutchinson
the bronze. The team will next compete at Suffolk
Community College on Thursday evening, and then
travel to the "Track and Field Mecca"
of indoor competition, The Armory, where they
will compete in the Hispanic Games on Saturday.
Bishop Loughlin Games-
Bay Shore took fourth place at the Bishop Loughlin
Games. Brandon Hutchinson won the triple jump
at 46' 9.5" which is the 2nd longest jump
in the state this year. Hutchinson also took
second in the long jump with a leap of 22' 3.5".

The Varsity Boys Indoor
Track Team is again favored to be one of the
top teams in Suffolk County.
They are led by All County Triple and Long
Jumpers Brandon Hutchinson (12), Michael Moore
(12), and Kadesh Roberts (10).
All County Miler senior Mike Mauro along with
Cody Corcoran (12), Ben Hogan (12), Matt Cohen
(10), and Nick Swain (10) will keep the Marauders
competitve in the distance events. Also expected
to contribute to the team's success are seniors
Jon Moreno and Andrew Mirabito in the Shot
Put, as well as, juniors Connor Crane and
Dan Goldberg in the sprints.
