Marauder Award Winners-
At the conclusion of a great season, Anthony Padovano was named Academic All County. Named to the All Conference Team were John Dettori, Steve Rivera, Marty Cascio and Frank Arcuri. In addition, Sal DiLegge and Christian Molinar were named to the All League Team. Congratulations to all members of the Boys Soccer team for a successful season.

Ward Melville Upsets Bay Shore in Penalty Kicks -
No. 11 Ward Melville upset the No. 3 Bay Shore 3-1 in penalty kicks after a going scoreless in regulation and overtime. Mike Creszenzo, Mark Brode, Luke Legakis all scored on their penalty kicks to lead the Patriots (6-5-6) to victory. Bay Shore ends their season with a 11-4-2 record. Ward Melvile goalie Cobb Pirano saved three out of four penalty-kick shots (6 saves) and Marauder goalie Marty Cascio also recorded six saves in the net. Ward Melville plays at third seeded West Islip at 2 p.m. on Monday.


Marauders Dominate Third Quarter to Top Hauppauge 4-1-
No. 3 Bay Shore defeat No. 14 Hauppauge 4-1 in the first round of the Suffolk County Playoffs. The Marauders took an early 1-0 lead heading into halftime and extended their lead scoring three more in the second move on to the quarter finals. Steve Rivera had two goals and John Dettori scored on a direct kick from 40 yards with 2:57 left in the game. Sal DiLegge also recorded a goal in the win to help Bay Shore improve to 12-3-2 in Suffolk Class AA. Goalie Marty Cascio had five saves in the net for the Marauders. Bay Shore will host No. 11 Ward Melville in a quarterfinal at 2 p.m. Friday.

Escobar Scores Game-Winner -

Dimas Escobar scored the game winning goal with 17 minutes remaining in regulation to give Bay Shore the 3-2 win over Northport. John Dettori had a goal and Christian Molinar added a goal and an assist in the victory. Goalie Marty Cascio had three saves in the net.

Dettori Nails Hat Trick Over T-Birds -
Senior forward John Detttori recorded his first career hat trick to lead Bay Shore to a 5-1 victory over Connetquot. Dettori score his second goal on on an assist from Steve Rivera in a the 32nd minute to give Bay Shore (9-1-1) a 3-0 lead. Rivera also had a goal. Bay Shore clinched its first league title since 1993. Senior goaltender Marty Cascio stopped three shots on the net for the Marauders. Connetquot is 1-10-1.

Marauders Share League II Title -

Under the lights at Whitman HS, the boys soccer team knocked off Whitman 2-0 to clinch a share of the League II title. The defense anchored by Frank Arcuri recorded its 6th shutout of the season. Chris Sweeney, Dan Horne, Schuyler Hayward, and Vinny Padovano shut down the Whitman offense with tight marking and tenacious tackling. After a scoreless first half, Dimas Escobar softened up the Whitman defense with repeated long penetrating runs on the left wing that yielded dangerous crosses to the far post but no goals came. Finally, with 13 minutes to go, John Dettori gathered a cross from Quintel Gates at the top of the box and blasted it past the Whitman keeper to put Bay Shore up 1-0. Marty Cascio preserved the slim lead in the final 10 minutes with two saves including a point blank shot he deflected wide after an indirect kick at the top of the 18 yard box. With 90 seconds left, Dettori finally put the game away for good when he took a pass from Steve Rivera and slipped it under the onrushing Whitman keeper. The boys record stands at 8-1-1 in League II and 9-3-2 overall.

DiLegge Hits Game-Winner for Bay Shore -
Senior Sal DiLegge scored the winner on the rebound of a corner kick by the far post with 34:17 left in the game for Bay Shore in League II. Goalie Marty Cascio stopped a breakaway with less then 10:00 left in the game to preserve the win. Cascio finished the game with four saves. John Dettori had a goal and assist for Bay Shore, who improves to 7-1-1.

Bay Shore Commack DeadLock 2-2-
Commack took the early 2-0 lead heading into the second half but the Marauders hit the back of the net twice to tie the game. Junior Quintel Gates scored with 21 seconds left in the game on a through ball to tie the score at 2 for Bay Shore. Junior Steve Rivera scored first goal and senior goalie Marty Cascio had seven saves for the Marauders. . Bay Shore is 6-1-1 in League II.


Sachem North Hands Bay Shore its First Loss -
The Flaming Arrows upset the previously undefeated Marauders 2-1. Senior Camilo Gonzalez scored Bay Shore's only goal. Sachem North's Tim Jones broke a 1-1 tie with a goal 14 minutes into the second half . The Flaming Arrows improve to 2-3-2 in Suffolk League II and Bay Shore suffers its first loss (6-1).

Marauders Remain on Top -
Bay Shore held onto first place (6-0) in League II with a thoroughly dominating 2-0 whitewash of Northport. The Bay Shore offense outshot Northport 16 to 2. Brandon Turner opened the scoring on a feed from Chris Sweeney in the 43rd minute. Steve Rivera volleyed the second goal home off a beautifully driven cross from Sal DiLegge ten minutes into the second half. Stoppers Dan Horne and Joe Eliopoulos anchored a stout defense that didn't allow a corner kick. Goalkeeper Marty Cascio made four saves to record his fourth clean sheet this season.


Dettori Scores Two Against T-Birds -
Senior forward John Dettori scored two goals to lead Bay Shore over Connetquot 3-0. Junior Steve Rivera also tallied a goal in the victory. Senior goalie Marty Cascio had four stops in the net for the Marauders. Bay Shore improves to 5-0 in league II-AA and currently first in the standings.

Cascio Records Third Shutout -
Senior goalie Marty Cascio notched his third shutout of the season with a 1-0 win over Walt Whitman. Junior midfielder Christian Molinar scored in the fourth minute, assisted by Steve Rivera, to give Bay Shore (4-0) a 1-0 lead in League II. Outstanding defense was played by Adam Turk cleared a ball off the line late in the second half to preserve the win.


Bay Shore Trounces Commack -
Bay Shore knocked off Commack to move into first place in League II with a 2-0 record. After another scoreless first half, John Dettori opened the scoring with a 35-yard rocket into the upper right corner in the 51st minute. With 16 minutes to go, Sal DiLegge punched in a loose ball in the 6-yard box after a shot from Quintel Gates. Steve Rivera slotted in the final score after 20-yard solo dribbling run through the Commack defense. Freshman Kenneth Barnes recorded his first varsity shutout with 7 saves in goal.

Marauders Edge Central Islip 3-2
Isiah Millington scored the winner off the deflection of a Dan Horne shot in the 73rd minute for Bay Shore in League II. Great defense was played by Chris Sweeney who cleared a ball off the line to preserve the win with 10:00 left in the game. John Dettori scored his second goal in the 51st minute to tie the score at two apiece. Marty Cascio recorded one save in the net for the Marauders.

Marauders Win League Opener -
Bay Shore defeated Sachem North 2-1 in the league opener of the season. After a scoreless first half junior Steve Rivera put the Marauders on the board. With 13:34 left in the game, Bay Shore senior forward John Dettori scored the game-winner on an assist from Sal DiLegge for Bay Shore (1-0) in League II.

St. John the Baptist Tops Bay Shore 3-1-
The Marauders could not contain St. John's offense in the first half as they took the early 3-0 lead. Bay Shore's senior forward John Dettori scored the Marauders lone goal in the second half. Senior goaltender Marty Cascio had ten saves in the net and his counterpart had seven.

Bay Shore Edges East Islip -
The Marauders defeated the Redmen 1-0 in a non-league game on Wednesday afternoon at East Islip. Junior Steve Rivera scored what proved to be the game winner on a free kick at the 34:51 mark. Senior goaltender Marty Cascio recorded three saves in the net for Bay Shore.

Marauders Fall to West Islip 2-0 -

Bay Shore dropped its second game of the season against West Islip. The Lions scored in the latter part of the game (46th minute) to break the stalemate and nailed a security goal in the 52nd minute to knock off the Marauders 2-0.

Brentwood and Bay Shore Tie in Season Opener -
Freshman goalkeeper Kenneth Barnes made a spectacular varsity debut in goal in the boys soccer home opener against preseason #1 Brentwood. With ten saves, including two point blank saves in the final minutes, the 9th grader Barnes secured a 1-1 tie for the Marauders. Despite Bay Shore dominating possession in the first half and creating the best scoring chances, Brentwood scored on a penalty kick in the 43rd minute to go ahead 1-0. Late in the hard-fought and physical second half, junior Steve Rivera knotted the score by converting a penalty kick with less than five minutes to go. Kudos to the defense including seniors Frank Arcuri, Dan Horne, Vinny Padovano, and Joe Eliopoulos as well as juniors Chris Sweeney and Schuyler Hayward who manned the back line to support Barnes, but it was Barnes who saved the day in the end.
