New York State Qualifier -
The Boys Varsity Cross Country Team finished the season with a 7th place finish in the State Qualifier Meet. Senior Mike Mauro took 4th place honors and will represent Suffolk County and Bay Shore at this weekend's NY State Championships in Plattsburg NY. Mauro earned "All County" honors for his achievements. Seniors Cody Corcoran and Ben Hogan were named All County Academic, by virtue of their placing in the top 50 in the race, and their scholastic achvements. "Super Sophs" Matt Cohen and Nick Swain ran PBs along with Will Norris and Kyle Wind who rounded out this years Varsity team. Congratulations to our Seniors for a GREAT season!

Suffolk County Freshmen Championship -
Boys Cross Country Team demonstrated it's depth by a great showing at the Suffolk County Frosh/Soph Championships held at Sunken Meadow State Park on October 31st. The freshmen were led by Kareem Roberts who ran a personal best over the 2.5 mile course. He was joined by Sam Clark, Ben DeFieux, John Casey, Nigel Nelson, and Josh Vu. The team took 6th place in showing that Bay Shore Cross Country is going to be a fore to reckon with in the future.

The Suffolk County Sophmore Championship -
The Marauder sophomores were led by "Super Sophs" Matt Cohen, Nick Swain, and Will Norris. Cohen ran 17:22 over the 3 mile course to take 4th place overall. Swain and Norris were close behind, with Ethan Corcoran, Keith McLeod, and Kadesh Roberts rounding out the scorers. When the dust settled, the sophomores took home the 2nd place team trophy. The Marauders will not miss a beat next year with the young talent the team is stocked with.

The Varsity Team will compete this Friday at the State Qualifier Meet held at Sunken Meadow State Park, for the honor of representing Suffolk County in the New York State Championships to be held in Plattsburg N.Y. on November 14th.


Brown Imvitational, Greenwich, RI -
The Marauders traveled to Providence R.I. to compete in the Brown University Invitational on Saturday, October 16th. Bay Shore was led by senior Mike Mauro, who despite almost falling at the start was able to recover to take the silver medal. Mauro ran a very smart and calculating race in order to make up the lost ground. Seniors Ben Hogan and Cody Corcoran ran stride for stride to take 31st, and 33rd place. 'Super soph' Matt Cohen was right behind taking 45th. A twisted ankle limited our other 'super soph', Nick Swain, who still managed a 78th place finish. Will Norris and Kyle Wind rounded out a varsity squad, that took 4th place overall in the meet. The Marauders will finish up their dual meet season on Tuesday, against a strong East Islip club.

Marauders Down HHH East -
Bay Shore improved their league recorded to 3 - 1 with a 26 - 31 victory over HHH East on Tuesday, October 6th. The Bay Shore attack was led by senior co-captain Mike Mauro, who cruised to an easy victory in 16:20 for 3 miles at Sunken Meadow State Park. Mauro was supported by senior co-captain Ben Hogan, senior Cody Corcoran, and "Super Sophs" Matt Cohen, Nick Swain, and Will Norris. All of the Marauders ran personal bests! Other fine races were turned in by seniors Shawn Dewer, Jose Rodriguez, Andrew Velez, as well as sophomore Kadesh Roberts.

The team will travel to Van Cortland Park in NYC this weekend for the Manhattan College Invitational, the largest Cross Country Meet in the United States.

St. Anthony's Invitational -
Bay Shore had a very successful outing Saturday, October 3rd at the St. Anthony's Invitational. Both the varsity and JV teams took home 3rd place plaques! Seniors Mike Mauro, Cody Corcoran, and Ben Hogan all ran together, followed closely by super sophomores Matt Cohen, Nick Swain, and Will Norris. Only 38 seconds separated runners 1 through 5! The Marauders were the top Suffolk County team, being edged out by the top ranked St. Anthonys, and the top ranked team in Nassau County was Calhoun High School.
The JV team was led by another super sophomore Kadesh Roberts. Seniors Andrew Velez and Shawn Dewer, along with juniors Kyle Wind and Jack Bonardi rounded out the scoring for the Marauders.
The team will resume their league dual meet schedule on Tuesday, when they take on a strong H.H.H. East team.


Marauders Squeeze Past Rival Northport -
In a total team effort the Marauders defeated arch rival and defending league champion, Northport by one point, 27 - 28. It was a thrilling dual meet at Sunken Meadow State Park, as the Marauders had to overcome adversity when Senior Mike Mauro was unable to go due to injury. The squad pulled together and ran a beautiful strategic race in which they were aware of their opponents positions at all times. Seniors Cody Corcoran and Ben Hogan led the attack followed closely behind by sophomore standouts Nick Swain and Matt Cohen. Senior Tyler Thompson sealed the victory with a dramatic sprint at the end of the grueling three mile race and caught the last Northport scorer right at the line. The team ran it's record to 2 - 1 in league meets and is preparing to run at the Saint Anthony's Invitational this Saturday.

Bay Shore Takes Second @ Suffolk Coaches Invite -
The Varsity Boys Cross Country Team took 2nd place at the Suffolk Coaches Invitational on the weekend of September 26th-27th ,held at Sunken Meadow State Park. The Marauders were without senior Mike Mauro, who was recovering from an injury. Senior Ben Hogan, along with sophomore Matt Cohen took control to lead the attack. Sophomore Nick Swain also turned in a solid performance in a total team effort. Other outstanding efforts were made by Sophomore Will Norris, and Senior Andrew Velez. The team will resume their league competition on Tuesday, against always tough rival and defending league champ Northport.

Walt Whitman Downs Bay Shore -
The Boy's Varsity Cross Country Team dropped a very close meet yesterday, September 22nd to defending Suffolk County Champion Walt Whitman. Senior Capt. Mike Mauro remained undefeated as a individual as he cruised to an effortless first place finish in 16:23 over the three mile course at Sunken Meadow State Park. Seniors Cody Corcoran, and Ben Hogan, along with Sophomores Matt Cohen, and Junior Kyle Wind all ran personal bests to round out the scoring. The team next competes this Saterday, also at "The Meadow" in the Suffolk Coaches Invitational.

Marauders Blow Out West Islip -
The Boys Cross Country Team opened their league II season with a resounding victory over West Islip. The Marauders took 5 of the first 6 places to win 19 - 43. Senior Mike Mauro cruised to an easy victory in the 3 mile race in a time of 16:50. The team then took places 3 -6 with Seniors Cody Corcoran, Ben Hogan, Tyler Thompson, and Sophomore Matt Cohen all within 21 seconds of each other!! Other fine performances were turned in byAndrew Velez, Jose Rodrigues, Ethan Corcoran, Jack Bonardi, and Nick Swain. The team will compete next in the Bob Pratt Invitational on Thursday. at Sunken Meadow State Park.

Bay Shore Finishes Third at Suffern Invite -
The Varsity Boys Cross Country team opened up their season with a third place finish at the Suffern Invitational, held at Bear Mountain State park September 12-13th. The Marauders was led by Senior Capt. Mike Mauro who took the gold medal in the Varsity Three Race. Mauro cruised to an easy victory in 16:30 over the hilly 3- mile course. Rounding out the scoring were seniors Cody Corcoran, Capt. Ben Hogan, Junior Kyle Wind, Senior Capt. Andrew Velez, and Martin Fereo.

The Team of Sophomores Matt Cohen, Kadesh Roberts, Will Norris, Nick Swain, and well as Junior Christian Fernandez, and Senior Jose Rodrigeuz took 4th place in the JV A race. Both Cohen and Roberts were individual medal winners as well due to their 10th and 12th place overall finishes.

The Marauders also ran a Freshman team led by Kareem Roberts, Jake Polosino, John Casey, Joshua Vu, Ben Defieux, and Nick Esteves.

The Marauders open up the league III schedule this Tues. (9-15) against West Islip at Sunken Meadow State Park.


Marauders Open Up on September 12th -

Bay Shore will open their season on Saturday, September 12th at the Bear Mountain Invitational. The Marauders will start league action on September 15th at Sunken Meadow State Park against W. Islip. Bay Shore is expected to do well in their league according to the preseason polls and hope to challenge for the county title. The team is a veteran team led by senior Mike Mauro, coming off an All County spring track season. Mauro will be supported by a very talented group of runners including Ben Hogan, Tyler Thompson, Cody Corcoran, Andrew Velez, and Martin Fereo. Underclassmen who will be in the scoring mix include Matt Cohen, Kyle Wind, and Nick Swain.
