Jackson
Scores a Career High 37 Points -
Bay Shore
was led by senior Malik Jackson who scored a career
high 37 points in a 62-55 win over Central Islip.
Jackson also had three three-pointers in the first
three minutes of the game sending the message to the
Buccaneers and added
10 rebounds and four blocks in the win. Jordan
Allen added 11 points and Lessiter finished with seven
points as Bay Shore improves to 7-4 in League II.

Marauders
Win Big on Senior Night -
Senior
co-captain Alyssa Leonard finished with a career high
36 points in a 70-61 win over rival Central Islip.
After the first quarter the game was tied 12-12, the
Buccaneers led going into the half 32-26 followed
by Bay Shore tying the game up at the end of the third
45-45. The Marauders went on a 12-0 run led by Leonard
who scored 14 of her 36 points in the fourth quarter.
Leonard tallied 11 rebounds and four steals. Senior
co-captain Najia Bangs (six points) nailed two free
throws late in the game, along with senior co-captain
Ebo Williams (nine points) who also hit three free
throws to ice the game. Bangs had a team high five
assists, Courtney Bocchieri had a career high six
points and tallied nine boards in the win. The Marauders
will end their season at Lindenhurst on Tuesday, February
9th at 6:00 pm. |

Dismantles Bay Shore -
The
Eagles defeated the Marauders 2-1 on Tuesday, January
19th. Copiague won by scores of 813-772, 791-771,
and 755-888 in League I action. |

Shore Falls to West Islip -
In their first match up on December 15th,
Bay Shore defeated West Islip 2-1 but rolls were reversed
the second time around at the Lions defeated the Marauders
2-1 on Tuesday, January 19th. West Islip is (1-13)
and won by scores of 673-650, 595-667, 607-572 in
their first win of the season. Amber Fogarty had a
177 in Game 1 of a 500 series to lead Bay Shore. |

Finish 3rd at Suffolk County Championships -
Congratulations to the Boy’s Varsity Track Team
on their 3rd place finish at the Section XI Championships
held on Tuesday night at Suffolk Community College.
The Marauders were led by “All County”
Triple; Jumper Brandon Hutchinson, who despite a severely
sprained ankle won his specialty on his last attempt
with a leap of 45’ 11.50”. He also took
2nd in the Long Jump with a mark of 22’ 4.50”.
Junior Raphael Rother, in his first year of track,
shocked the crowed as he led wire to wire in the 300
meter dash. Mike Moore took 5th in the Long Jump,
Mike Mauro took 2nd in the 1000 meter run, and Kadesh
Roberts took 6th in the 600 meter run to round out
the scoring in the individual events. The 4x200, and
4x400 meter relay teams also added to the tally for
Bay Shore. |

Qualifier -
Bay
Shore Girls 4 x 400 meter relay qualified for the Millrose
Games at Madison Square Garden on January 29, 2010.
The team of Darleen Eiermann, Sara Andrade, Aasha Jackson,
and Danielle Rowe ran 4:03.74 at the Armory on 1/13/10.
The Long Island Girls 4 x 400 meter relay qualifiers
included Bay Shore, Brentwood, Manhasset, Garden City,
Baldwin and Levittown. |

Sneaks Past Bay Shore -
Northport topped Bay
Shore 41-21 on Friday, January 22nd. The Marauders
had wins at 130 lbs., 140 lbs., 189 lbs., and 285
lbs., At 140 pounds, junior Rashad Gray recorded a
pin at the 2:38 minute mark. At 189 pounds, senior
Adrian Mack recorded a pin at the 1:31 minute mark
and at 285 pounds, senior Chris Young pinned his opponent
at the 3:27 mark. Bay Shore falls to 0-5 on the season.

University, Evanston, IL. Leonard will play lacrosse
for the Wildcats.
~ Brandon Turner has committed to
Lafayette, Easton, PA. Turner will play soccer for
the Leopards.
~ Shelby Vaccaro has committed to
Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT. Vaccaro will
play lacrosse for the Pioneers. g SHU in the
fall of 2010 |
